NCC Trainee Behavioral Health Clinic

We are providing two avenues for residents and fellows to seek behavioral health care in the National Capital Consortium. You can reach out directly to Walter Reed staff providers below or pursue outpatient consultative behavioral health care through USU (in development).

Additionally, if you prefer, you can pursue care through the dedicated behavioral health outpatient clinic at Walter Reed. The Walter Reed Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health (AOBH) Clinic is in Building 19 on floor 6. To schedule an intake, you can present in person, call the front desk at 301-295-0015, or call the Integrated Referral Management and Appointing Center (IRMAC) at 855-227-6331. You can also check out the “Other Resources” tab for more treatment options.

Walter Reed Providers

Instructions: Please email the respective provider below. We have psychiatrists, therapists, and psychologists; the treatment modality they can offer is listed below their names. Initially, the interaction between a trainee and a provider will be undocumented, focusing on determining the necessity for formal behavioral health treatment or exploring other supportive modalities like coaching. The first encounter will only be documented if ongoing treatment is deemed necessary or if there are any safety concerns. Subsequent encounters will be documented within the MHS Genesis.

USU Behavioral Health Providers (In-Development)

This consultative clinic is embedded within the Family Medicine Clinic at USU and can manage many behavioral health concerns, including depression and anxiety.  In instances where ongoing safety concerns are identified or if frequent follow-up is required for effective treatment, the trainee will be referred to the Walter Reed AOBH Clinic (see above).
