PubMed for Nurses

Darnall Medical Library can now offer 1 contact hour for completion of the class PubMed for Nurses. The class is accredited by the Texas Nurses Association (TNA), an accredited approver of CNE by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. CNE accreditation by TNA is recognized by all U.S. states except California, Florida, and Iowa. In the class, RNs will enhance their research and clinical assessment skills and abilities by using PubMed to obtain evidence-based nursing information relevant to their practices. The library will offer the class regularly, but departments may request special sessions.

Nurses can access continuing education modules and obtain contact hours and CEUs with CINAHL Plus with Full Text, which contains over 170 continuing education modules. Each continuing education module consists of course material, an interactive review, a module evaluation and a competency test with a certificate of completion. Nurses who successfully complete the module exam can obtain CEUs. Click here to register and here to login.
ClinicalKey for Nursing This link opens in a new window
To get Nursing Continuing Education contact hours for ClinicalKey for Nursing's Clinical Updates, create an account (if you don't have one) and log in. Read the selected Clinical Update, and click "Go to Test" near the top right corner of your screen. Select the title of the Clinical Update you reviewed, and click Take the Test.

Earn CME/CE/CPD credit for searches in DynaMed Plus. Select and read the topic of interest, and click on the CME icon near the top of the page. You'll be given questions to answer and will need to submit identifying information to the DynaMed CME provider.
Travax This link opens in a new window
This link takes you to the Travax account creation page. Click "Yes" under "Enable Account for CME." When logged in as a CME user, the homepage Other Options section displays a My CME Summary link that you can click to access your CME activity records. The User control in the top menu bar also includes a "CME Summary" option that performs the same function.
